On November 9, 2017, I successfully negotiated the admission of my client into the Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) program. My client was charged with Conspiracy under 2C:5-2A(1), which is a second degree crime and Tampering with Public Records under 2C:28-7A(1), which is a third degree crime.
Normally, defendants charged with a second degree crime would be ineligible to enter the PTI program. However, in this case, the State agreed to admit my client into the program over the objection of the Criminal Division Manager’s Office.
The PTI program allows a defendant’s charges to be dismissed after a period of time and the completion of other conditions.
