On July, 6, 2015 it was reported that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted an enforcement effort in New Jersey. The three-day effort resulted in the arrests of 69 aliens with criminal convictions.
Arrests were made in multiple cities such as Jersey City, Paterson, and Secaucus. ICE targeted aliens with records for assault, battery, DUI, weapons, drug, and other serious convictions.
It is important to note that a criminal or municipal court conviction in New Jersey can have an impact on a defendant’s immigration status. If you have been charged with an offense, it is important to consult with an attorney before pleading guilty.
