Expungement Granted for Theft By Deception Arrest Record

On January 11, 2019, my client was granted an expungement of his arrest record for theft by deception (2C:20-4A).

My client was originally charged in the Paramus Municipal Court but was also charged with an additional count and his case was referred to the Bergen County Criminal Division. I was successful in arguing for my client’s admission into the PTI program. He successfully completed that program and his charges were dismissed.

However, even after an individual completes a diversionary program such as PTI, a record of his or her arrest can remain. Therefore, it is recommended to file for expungement in these situations.

If you have been arrested, it is important to speak to an attorney as soon as possible about your options.
