Appellate Division Upholds Denial of Duplicate Firearms Card

On October 13, 2015, the Appellate Division of New Jersey denied the appeal of James R. List from the Morris County Superior Court. Mr. List sought to obtain a duplicate firearms purchaser identification card and three handgun permits.

The Morris County Superior Court noted that on two occasions, Mr. List’s firearms were stolen from him. The judge ruled that stolen weapons are a public safety issue and denied Mr. List’s application.

The Appellate Division agreed with the decision and ruled that the judge applied the proper legal principles in this case.
